 he true value of a microfinance programme lies in the change it can effect on the lives of ordinary people. Of access to credit, of skills gained, of enterprises begun, of markets opened up, and of homes built and children sent to school. It is the stories of ordinary people being able to overcome extraordinary odds, that inspires other people to initiate change at the community level. Such stories are collected here, in the hope that the human angle of microfinance is highlighted.
