The Japan NGO Center for International Cooperation (JANIC) publishes a directory of NGOs in Japan:

"Directory of Non-Governmental Organizations in Japan
NGOs Active in International Cooperation"

The latest version was published published in March 1992. The Directory has 173 organizations, each entry listing the organizations' English and Japanese names, contact address, telephone and fax, contact persons, objectives and activities, fields of operation, countries of operation, publications, financial details, membership, and organizations with which cooperation has been established.

The Directory is also published in Japanese, in a more comprehensive coverage both in terms of number of organizations and their descriptions.
