A microcredit programme organized its borrowers into small homogeneous groups on the self-help methodology. The group formation process facilitated solidarity among the members as well as participatory interaction. It also organizationally strengthened the programme, so that they could acquire the capacity for planning and implementation of micro-level developmental activities.
