T
his presentation explores the dillema in intrapolating the decisions and agreements taken by member-states at the global level, (particularly at the United Nations), as well as the extrapolating of local concerns and problems to the global level so that data-based informed decisions can be taken.

It looks at the role of different stakeholdersand the variety of decisions to be taken at different levels of governance. It highlights the central position of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the extrapolation and intrapolation processes.

It proposes a matrix where different actions such as laws, legislation, rules and regulations (i.e. governance), awareness-raising and capacity building (i.e. education), and tevhnology, techniques and tech-skills (i.e. technology) will need to be implemented by governments, private sector companies, and civil society entities, at the global national and local levels.
